#Tony hawk pro skater 3 n64 controls manual
Grinds and wallrides happen instantly, also it allows you to hold down the JUMP button in advance before performing a manual as you're already pre-set to grind when you want. I guess not many people know about this 'technique' I'm so used to it by now however and it really helps you play the game better.
It sounds odd, I know, but I've been playing THPS like this since part 3 back in 2001. Your thumb on the JUMP button and your Index finger laying flat sideways on the GRIND button. The best way to hold your controller while playing THPS is to hold down both JUMP and GRIND at the same time. Yes the D-pad sucks, but it's more than that.
I guess you could try a bunch of third party controllers until you find one that feels most comfortable, but that's your call.įor me it is completely unplayable, which is why I waited for the PS3 version. The D-pad is still pretty wobbly and clunky because other than the shape, it's identical to the original. My experience with the new transforming D-pad on the 360 controllers wasn't so great either. I use a Razer Onza and almost always recommend that people pick one up, but the D-pad on the Onza wouldn't suit this game. I tried using the D-Pad and it just doesn't feel right. I've never used anything other than the analog stick in a TH game so I'm fine with it. So I suppose it all depends on what you grew up with and got used to. My friend and I played on the N64 and Gamecube. The difference? The two friends who don't like it played THPS 1, 2, and 3 on the PS and PS2. I've got 2 friends who don't like the controls for THPS HD on the 360 and I've got another friend and myself who are fine with the analog stick controls.
